Good to know it's over. I'm waiting for Sony's 200$ PC drive in early February.
I'm happy I wasn't an early adopter. Microsoft had the ability to beat Blu-ray or at least draw this war out a little longer. But I guess they weren't as big of a supporter as I thought they'd be, probably because it wouldn't be that big of a payoff. Good news for everybody I guess. Toshiba is liquidating their stock right now and I'm sure HD-DVD will hault all production before Christmas.
Forgot one, it's an old request I had a while ago
7. When you click on images or video links it would be very fancy if the page shifted down to show the media without reloading.
That's ambitious, but would make the website more streamline!
Excellent update as usual, but I figured I'd give a few constructive considerations. Nothing dire, just a few suggestions.
1. The 3 major news topics at the top don't always display the full title correctly within the picture. It's cut off sometimes.
2. The "Hot Reviews" section seems to have too much white space around each picture. So when I load the home page, I actually can't see the big list of news articles, so I have to scroll down a complete page...
Didn't know there was a dragonball movie
It will achieve mediocre status at best. Unless of course your a shut off hard core dragonball fan. By the way I liked this show years ago so I'm not being a hater, I'm just being real.
oh dusty, you know just how to push my buttons
I'm going to report you!
free of course
It's like a 360 update, it should have been there in the first place.
Vista does have clear problems but you don't need more than 2gbs unless you doing high end gaming.
I've gone 6 months with 1gb on vista premium and never really noticed any slow down with any programs except MCE. So I got 2gbs and not much has changed. Keep in mind this is a custom PC I've used in college. The most taxing I've done on this with 1gb has been HL2 on max settings and 1gb was enough.
You don't need more than 1gb unless your a gamer or high end use...
actually, I would
:)
because he makes other directors/movies look better
here's the thing
If universal or Microsoft dropped their support of HD-DVD immediately what would happen to all their HD-DVD products at stores, in inventory, and being made......THEY WOULDN'T SELL
Therefore it's in the best interest of them to tell the public the opposite so they can sell out all they can over the next 3-4 months or whatever. I just want an end, I never supported either format.

well I guess this is the future, but I'm sure there are other technologies out there to compete with it. Like plasma vs. dlp vs. ect.
neck size?
how many chins do you have, my boy
One question, this drive would of course be able to produce at least 1080p on a monitor? I can't imagine why it wouldn't, I just don't understand what makes this drive "sub". Even though I don't have one.
And once again I'm happy I waited this one out. I learn from people's past mistakes. I'd say BR will most likely be the new format because toshiba and MS dropped the ball on this one.
Hint, Hint, this is why you shouldn't be a company loyalist
if you have a Mac, you've got a far bigger problem

razer,
this isn't an argument on piracy. Just that divx makes piracy easier. Like you said, you back up your DVD's with divx. Well you may be legit, but what about the other guy who does the same thing and instead of just keeping them he puts them out on the internet.
That's all I'm saying. If someone goes to the trouble to divx them, why doesn't he or she put them into wmv/avi files so they'll work on any computer or console. MS probably just slapped on Div...
why do people need divx?
you probably download things illegally with divx, so why wouldn't you just torrent any video converter out there. Walla! no more divx needed because all your files could be avi or wmv.
this is probably just a preference thing i guess
What will it take to run crysis on full settings? Just curious.
